I’ve made no secret that I prefer 2D games over 3D — in terms of developing them *and* playing them. From a development standpoint, it’s almost impossible to do a good 3D game by yourself because not only are you doing the coding, but all the modeling has to be done. It’s a *much* bigger job than 2D.
But looking at the promo video for Project Anarchy, a 3D mobile engine that’s being released this spring, makes me want to work on a 3D game. Oh, and the engine is going to be free, which is always nice.
No details on the dev environment, but I assume it’s C++ — because just about everything is. 😛
