Eight days after I submitted it for review, my game Match Game Magic was released on the App Store. Woohoo! 🙂

Go ahead and download it, it’s free. It’s a memory/match game where you match two tiles and uncover a hidden picture. It’s not rocket science, and it’s not even the game I intended to write when I bought Corona SDK. (It is a fun game, however!)
But I wrote it and released it for two big reasons.
1. I wanted to get my feet wet, so to speak. I already have an app in the app store, but it’s one I hired to be written (I did the update myself, but not the whole thing) and it’s not a game. This is my first real app with Corona SDK and I wanted to “prove” I could do it. 🙂
2. I’m getting ready to create a full video tutorial, from start to finish, on creating a game using Corona SDK. In order to do that, I needed a complete game, and one that wasn’t too complex. I want to help people get started, not overwhelm them.
Match Game Magic is the perfect project for both. I’ve already started working on the tutorial series and will probably put the videos here on GDN as I finish them. That way I can get some fairly immediate feedback.
Watch for the first video about the middle of April. And until then, go ahead and download Match Game Magic and give it a shot.
Congratulations Jay, I look forward to your tutorials. You are a quick learner and I loved Article Architect by the way. Keep up the good work.
